3corder is a program for recording audio from a sound card and then encoding it into mp3 format in real time. Like many similar programs, 3corder uses the Lame engine for coding. 3corder was written based on the author's conservative views on how to use the capabilities of this engine. The scope of application of 3corder seems obvious - recording audio in mp3 format from various sources such as household audio equipment (radio, tape recorder, player, microphone, etc., etc.).

3corder features:

• multithreaded architecture of the recording process (pipeline type), which allows to overcome the problem of loss of audio information in case of unexpected CPU load. It is possible to manually adjust the size of intermediate sound buffers and the priority of streams (including the lame stream),
• determination and cutting of the current constant component of samples (DC) by an adjustable algorithm (exponential mean + amplitude filter),
• integrated input channel mixer, duplicating functions of the system mixer,
• indicator of the level of the source signal and the signal after cutting DC,
• the ability to record in uncompressed form (wav and raw formats).
