Backgammon is one of the most ancient and fascinating board games in which luck and competent logical actions are needed to win. In this version, two varieties of this game are implemented - short and long, each of which has two more types - a total of four options.
BACKGAMMON (backgammon) - players throw a pair of dice alternately and move their checkers according to the points that fall out (1 point - 1 offset point). Each number that falls out must be played separately. If a double falls out, then it is played as a double move (for example, at 3-3, four separate moves of 3 points are made). Whenever possible, the dropped points should be used in full. The player skips a turn if there are no available items.
During a move, a checker can be placed on a free point, on a point occupied by the same color or occupied by one other person's checker. In the latter case, the opponent's checker is considered beaten and goes to the bar - the middle of the board. The first duty of the player is to return his beaten checkers to the game at the starting quarter. The checker returns to the game by entering a point equal to the value that fell on the dice. Until the player has loaded all his checkers, he cannot make other moves.
After all your checkers are collected in the house, you can start throwing away. Checkers are thrown from the points whose numbers are equal to the numbers dropped on the dice. If desired, instead of throwing out, you can make a move with a checker. If there is no checker at the point corresponding to the dropped number and there is also no checker at the higher positions, then a checker from the oldest occupied position may be thrown out. The first player to throw away all his checkers is considered the winner.
NACKGAMMON (backgammon) - backgammon was invented by Nack Ballard. The rules of the game are similar to backgammon, except for the initial placement of chips.
NARDE (long backgammon) - the rules are similar to short backgammon, but during the move the checker can be placed on a free point or on a point occupied by the same color. In one move, only one checker can be removed from the initial position (head). The exception is a double on the first throw - if it is not possible to use all the moves of the first checker, then you can remove the second one from the head. It is not allowed to build an impassable fence (six or more checkers of the same color in a row) if there is not at least one opponent's checkers in front. The first player to throw away all his checkers is considered the winner.
KHACHAPURI (long backgammon) - khachapuri is a popular version of long backgammon in some Caucasian countries. The rules of the game are similar to long backgammon, except for the initial placement and the ability to remove as many chips as you want from your head per turn.
For those who like to experiment with backgammon, there is an editor where you can create your own initial arrangements of checkers.
