Balancing calculator is an assistant in calculating the mass and location (angle) of the adjustment loads in the conditions of dynamic (two-plane) balancing. Pre-balancing will reduce the amount of vibration during the first starts of a highly unbalanced rotor.
To measure the amplitude and phase of vibration, a single-channel measuring equipment with one vibration sensor and a phase meter is used. The measurements themselves are carried out according to the scheme of three starts:
- at the first start, the initial amplitude and phase of vibration in the first and second correction planes are measured, and the measurement data are entered manually into the corresponding fields of the calculator (without load),
- the test load of a known mass is set to 1 plane, the measurements of the amplitude and phase of vibration are repeated and entered into the corresponding fields calculator (load in plane 1),
- the location of the test load on the rotor is marked, the test load is removed from plane 1 and installed in plane 2: measurements are made for plane 2 and data is entered into the calculator (load in plane 2).
To calculate the mass and location (angle) of the adjustment loads, press the F9 Calculation button. The mass and angle of installation will be shown in the Result panel, and the mass of the corrective load will be expressed as a percentage of the mass of the test.
