CommView is a program for intercepting and analyzing Internet and LAN traffic. It collects information about data passing through a modem (dial-up) or network card and decodes the analyzed data. With CommView, you can see a list of network connections, IP statistics, and examine individual packets. IP packets are decoded down to the lowest level with a full analysis of common protocols. Full access to raw data is provided. Intercepted packets can be saved to a file for later analysis. A flexible filter system allows you to discard unnecessary packets or intercept only those packets that you want.

This application is designed for small or medium-sized networks and can be run on any Windows system. It needs an Ethernet network adapter (or Wireless Ethernet) with support for the NDIS 3.0 standard, or a standard remote access controller (dial-up). CommView performs a complete analysis of more than 70 common protocols.
