Comodo Cleaning Essentials is a set of tools for searching and cleaning infected computers from viruses, as well as detecting and suspending unsafe processes. Fully customizable and able to find and remove most types of threats. The principle of operation of Comodo Cleaning Essentials is based on the new anti-virus concept of COMODO - DACS (Distributed and Collaborative Scanning based on cloud technologies). At the first launch, white lists of hash sums (snapshots) of already tested programs and important files of well-known vendors are loaded. Then the system starts scanning and comparing the checksums of the files being checked with those that have already been uploaded and checked for validity by Comodo servers. If unknown files are found, they are checked automatically (in online mode) by several dozen antiviruses from different manufacturers (the check is performed on the computers of other users participating in the CSE program), and based on this, a verdict is made - whether the file being checked is safe or not.
