Dalas - The program is designed for diagnostics and software repair of HDD. This program runs under the Windows operating system. The program works directly with the I/O ports and does not require any additional software, such as the UserPort driver, for its operation. Even the presence of drivers available in the IDE controller system is not mandatory.

To prevent possible conflicts of the program with other hardware and software, it is recommended to disable the controller in the system to which the drive under test is connected.

The capabilities of Dalas include:

• Getting detailed information about the capabilities and parameters of the drive
• Working with the SMART system
• Working with the SECURITY system
• Working with HPA
• Testing the drive for endurance in the most severe conditions with continuous temperature control
• Testing the surface of the drive with a visual display of the results in the form of a graph and a surface map
• Search for defective and unstable sectors
• Creating softbeds (UNC type defects)
• Rapid destruction of information using protective erasure
• Recovery of information in defective UNC-type sectors (not available in this version of the program)
• Sector-by-sector copying of information from one drive to another, or to a file (not available in this version of the program)
• Flaw detector with LBA48 addressing mode support (not available in this version of the program)
• ATA terminal (not available in this version of the program)
