Demagog is a talking text editor. SAPI4 and SAPI5 are compatible speech synthesizers. The program is designed to read text files aloud using Microsoft Speech API 4/5 speech function packages (SAPI4 and SAPI5). Instead of reading aloud, the text can be sped up to an audio file in WAV or MP3 format. This way you can create audiobooks.
It is possible to automatically highlight the timbre and volume of direct speech of the characters. Pronunciation correction dictionaries of the popular DIC format are supported.
Demagog was tested on the engines Elan Nikolai, NextUp Katerina, Acapela Alyona, Loquento Olga.
