Empty Directory Detector is a small useful portable utility that will help you find all empty directories on your computer, as well as those folders in which only junk files are stored. This program is useful for structuring and organizing efficient folder navigation, as well as increasing system performance by subsequently clearing unnecessary directories when accessing them. You can determine which files are junk and not needed in the program options, where flexible configuration of search templates is available.
Working with the application is quite simple. In the standard settings (by default), the program will find all empty folders and delete them. As already noted, to provide more flexible scanning, set additional parameters in the settings: destroy files with a size of 0 bytes, ignore hidden and system directories, create file templates, etc.
At the end of the search, you will have a multi-colored folder tree: red - for deletion, blue - protected from deletion, green - not empty. Individual actions are available for each folder, such as selectively deleting or rescanning only the specified folder and its subfolders, protection against auto-deletion, etc. When all the preparations are finished, it remains to click Delete found directories and get rid of unnecessary folders.
