Equidistant motion is an application that simulates the performance of laboratory work in general physics in order to measure the dependence of instantaneous velocity on the distance traveled.
In the case of uniform acceleration, the instantaneous velocity increases with the distance traveled. The constant of proportionality between the square of the velocity and the distance traveled can be used to calculate acceleration. This phenomenon is investigated when setting up this experiment using a trolley and a raceway.
To measure the instantaneous speed, a flag of known width attached to the trolley interrupts the light beam of the photoelectric sensor. The time during which the beam is interrupted is measured using a digital counter.
