Eudora - This email client is considered a recognized leader among such programs in the West, being the most functional product in its class. It should be especially noted that the opportunities for working with mail and web surfing on a PDA are perfectly implemented and in such a volume nowhere else found. In recent years, Qualcomm, the developer of Eudora, has made it the standard for all email clients without exception.Previously, Qualcomm supplied Eudora in two versions: Lite and Pro, which differed primarily in terms of distribution and functionality. The Lite version is free, and for the full use of Eudora Pro it was necessary to pay a considerable amount.
Now users, having installed Eudora, can already choose 3 modes of using the program:
  • Paid Mode. There is an option when the user has to pay a fee of $39.95 for using the full version of the program (Eudora Pro)
  • Light Mode. The user does not pay anything, but loses many useful functions (advanced incoming mail filter, customizable address book, full support for receiving/sending HTML emails, etc., etc.),
  • Qualcomm: Sponsored Mode. The point is that the user, getting access to all the functions of Eudora without exception, must contemplate a rather large and constantly getting in the way of an advertising window.
A list of the main features that this email client offers today:
  • Eudora Sharing Protocol (ESP). The protocol allows a group of people (share group) to share and automatically synchronize the resources of each member of the group. That is, if someone introduces a new, deletes or modifies an existing file, ESP will automatically do the same on other users' computers. In addition, ESP allows you to create and manage groups on both Windows and Macintosh platforms without using a server. ESP is only available in Paid Mode and Sponsored Mode,
  • Support for the Eudora Internet Suite (EIS ver.2.1) for Palm OS. EIS allows you to send and receive mail from the PDA, synchronizing work with the desktop system using the Eudora Mail Conduit tool (and the function works not only for Eudora, but also for Outlook Express and Netscape). The latest version of EIS includes the EudoraWeb browser, which allows you to log in directly from the PDA.
