Forbidden File is a free program for encrypting and decrypting any file or an entire folder. Suitable for all types of file systems: NTFS, FAT32. File encryption is based on the IDEA (International Data Encryption Algorithm) algorithm. IDEA's persistence is based on the use of three incompatible types of arithmetic operations on 16-bit words. IDEA is very common in Europe and is used in a popular email encryption program.
With the help of the program Forbidden file, you can encrypt both a single file or several files in a folder, and the entire folder as a whole. The program is integrated into the shell, and when you double-click on the encrypted file, the file is automatically launched in the program corresponding to the file type. After finishing working with the file, the unencrypted file is automatically encrypted and deleted. There is an option to permanently delete files or directories.
