Haven: Keep Watch is a free application that uses the built-in hardware of a mobile device (cameras, microphones, light sensor, accelerometer, etc.) to monitor the room in the absence of the user. Developed by Edward Snowden in collaboration with the Freedom of the Press Foundation.
Sensors monitor for all changes around, which are recorded in the event log on the device:
- Accelerometer: Phone movement and vibration.
- Camera: Movement in the visible environment of the phone from the front or rear camera.
- Microphone: Environmental noises.
- Light sensor: The function of automatically adjusting the brightness of the screen when the lighting conditions change is used.
- Power supply: detection of disconnection of the device or loss of power.
The program will independently take photos and record sounds, after which it sends the received data to the device specified in the settings. When sending data, the information is protected by end-to-end encryption.
Note! At the moment, the application is in beta testing.
