Index Dat Eraser 1.2

Index Dat Eraser is a small program for viewing the contents and deleting index files (cache) of Internet Explorer. Does not require installation.

index.dat files are protected by the system and it is impossible to remove protection from them and erase them directly manually, except by booting the computer from another disk or in DOS mode. Nevertheless, deleting the index cache is useful and necessary for two reasons:
1. The browser cache, which has swollen to several (tens) megabytes, does not speed up, but on the contrary, slows down the work of IE,
2. Index.dat contain records of ALL visited pages and cookies (both on the Internet and on the local hard disk offline), so that by viewing their contents, you can give you a complete characterization as a user: what sites were you on, what were you interested in, what were you looking for - all the secrecy and confidentiality of personal data is just in these non-removable files.
