Maxwell's Pendulum is an application that simulates the performance of laboratory work in general physics in order to confirm the conservation of energy using the Maxwell pendulum.
The disk of the Maxwell pendulum is suspended on threads at both ends of its axis so that the threads can be wound on the axis of the disk. During the movement, the potential energy of the pendulum turns into kinetic energy and vice versa. The process of moving the pendulum up and down is repeated until the potential energy obtained due to the initial height of the disk is completely lost due to reflection and friction.
In this experiment, a photoelectric light barrier is installed at different heights so that the axis of the Maxwell disk repeatedly crosses the light beam. By the time between the intersections of the beam of light, it is possible to determine the instantaneous speed of the pendulum and calculate its kinetic energy from it.
