Microsoft Surface Data Eraser is a tool that boots from a USB drive and allows you to safely clean all data from a compatible Surface device.

The utility can be useful, for example, if the Surface device is being prepared for shipment for repair, decommissioned at an enterprise or organization, or transferred to another user, as well as in other cases involving the protection of confidential information (passwords, bank details, etc.) from unauthorized persons.
