Minecraft Server: Java Edition is a great opportunity to create a server for a network game in Minecraft. The application allows you to create a fully customizable server, and what is important is that the server settings are compatible only with Minecraft: Java Edition, and then invite other players.
There is an opportunity to set the maximum number of players, change the size of the map, game modes, difficulty levels and much more. Before creating a server, you need to make sure that the latest version of Java is installed on the PC.
Before starting the server, keep in mind that wherever you run it (desktop, downloads folder, etc.), it will create additional configuration files in this place, so it is better to create a dedicated folder for these purposes, as this will simplify the search and organization of all files.
After opening the downloaded file with a double mouse click, the server should start. It will write the configuration files to a folder and automatically close immediately. The initial setup that needs to be done is acceptance of the license agreement. A text file is created in the application folder eula.txt which you need to open in a text editor and change the line eula = false to eula = true, which means that you have read and understood the end user license agreement that you will comply with when using the software. If you don't, the server will shut down immediately when you try to start it.
If errors occur, it is recommended to run Minecraft Server as an administrator by right-clicking on it and selecting Run as administrator (this may require an administrator password). Further configuration is carried out using the command line.
