NVIDIA FrameView is a utility for measuring frame rate, power consumption and performance per watt for a wide range of video cards, which offers a number of tools for monitoring and collecting statistics.
All this data is provided in real time in a customizable overlay and recorded in a log for convenient analysis using PresentMon. There is support for DirectX 9, 10, 11 and 12, OpenGL, Vulkan and Universal Windows Platform (UWP).
The main features of NVIDIA FrameView:
- determining the frame rate during rendering,
- estimating the frame rate in the 90th, 95th and 99th percentiles. Reviewers usually use the 99th percentile. If it is close to the average value, then it can be argued that the game is displayed smoothly and without jerks,
- launching the benchmark mode, in which statistical data is collected during a previously preset period of time. To maximize performance, the overlay is disabled during the benchmark.
