ReactOS is a free, open source operating system based on the Windows architecture, providing support for existing applications and drivers.
It is positioned as an alternative to the most common consumer Windows operating system. Installation does not take much time. The explorer is built on the basis of modal windows.
Features:
- Supports many Win32 applications: both supplied with Windows (Paint, Notepad, calculator, Regedit registry editor, cmd command interpreter) and third-party (AbiWord, Adobe Reader, OpenOffice, Quake games, Quake II, etc.).
- Third-party applications are selected and installed from the application manager.
- Print support.
- It is available both as a LiveCD and as an option for installation on a PC hard disk (only 500 MB will be required for installation).
- Allows you to mount and read various Unix file systems, such as EXT2, EXT3, EXT4, ReiserFS and UFS.
Attention! ReactOS is in alpha state, which means that some features are missing and that at the moment ReactOS cannot be a replacement for the main OS, but continues to strive for this.
