Rusred is a text editor containing the necessary set of functions and its own Russification of the keyboard (with the display of the image of Russian keys on the screen!). The program works with encodings: DOS-866, WIN-1251, KOI8, UTF-8, Unicode, as well as phonetic (replacing Russian letters with Latin and vice versa).Additional functions - vertical block, paragraph formatting, file encryption when saving, working with text tables, pseudographics and much more.
The main purpose is to type and read letters on computers that do not have their own Russification (relevant for non-CIS countries). In addition, it is useful when receiving repeatedly recoded messages (you can find the right one by sequential selection). It can also be used for frequent editing of a permanent set of files (stores two lists with parameters), allows you to bookmark, etc.
Is focused mainly on working with a keyboard, not a mouse, so it can be considered as an editor for laptops. It is also convenient because it can work as a single file from any medium, without installation.
Main functions (except standard ones):
- Launch without installation from any media,
- The ability to encrypt files (custom format),
- Working with rectangular blocks (text fragments),
- Entering pseudographic symbols, drawing tables and working with them,
- Support for Win1251, Koi-8, Dos866, Utf-8, Unicode, Translit,
- encodingsText formatting, sorting and other operations,
- Internal clipboard (disabled) and communication with the system buffer,
- Using bookmarks and predefined file groups,
- Orientation to keyboard operation (but also full mouse support).
