Text-To-Speech Converter for MS Word is a program designed to work in conjunction with Microsoft Word 97 or higher to give it speech functionality. Usually, the creators of such programs make either a window with text in them, or build a simple text editor. This program uses Word as an editor.
The program provides the ability to choose from several engines present in the system (if there is more than one), as well as settings of its speech parameters. Monitors the current readable text fragment, there is a function of reading into an audio file. It is possible to read from the cursor position, or a selected fragment, temporarily interrupting reading.
The program is able to use both the SAPI 5 standard and the SAPI 4 standard, which makes it possible to use almost any text-to-speech engine installed in the system (Windows XP/2003 already has the English SAPI 5 text-to-speech engine and all the components necessary for the program to work).
Text-To-Speech Converter for MS Word is a narrow panel with buttons hovering in the mode on top of all over Word. The transparency of the panel can be changed (right click on the program panel). The program can also be minimized to the tray, while all the functions of the program remain available.
Pay attention!
Initially SAPI 4 is missing in Windows XP/2003. You can download it from the official Microsoft website, as well as the text-to-speech engine for SAPI 4 for Russian.
For the program to work, it is necessary to have Microsoft in the system.NET Framework.
