USB Drive Factory Reset Tool is a small free application that will help you clean a USB disk, USB flash drive and any other USB storage devices and restore it to its original state.
After working with a bootable USB drive using a raw image, overwritten or divided into several USB drive partitions, you may face the need to return it to factory settings. In fact, it is very simple to restore or restore a USB drive to its original state with one disk partition loaded with any of the FAT, FAT32, exFAT or NTFS file systems. Thanks to this, the USB drive is easily detected and used again by all devices.
You may encounter the need to restore a USB drive after working with tools such as Rufus, USB Disk Storage Format Tool in Windows to burn ISO, or using the dd command in Linux to write an image file to a USB disk. Depending on the file used, these tools may make the USB device corrupted or unreadable on some devices. In some cases, the flash drive may not be assigned a drive letter, and the USB will not be detected by the computer. This is because these tools use the raw-write method to transfer data in a disk image (usually a .img or .iso) to a USB drive. As a result, the existing MBR, partition table, HPA and/or file system are overwritten by the image file.
