Windows XP installation discs are designed to install the operating system on computers that do not support booting from a CD.

When you boot the computer from the Windows XP installation disks, the CD-ROM drive drivers will be automatically loaded, and the installation of the operating system will begin. Windows XP installation disks do not allow updating the operating system.
