XnView is a full-fledged response to a well-advertised ACDSee product. In many respects, it surpasses any viewer / converter of graphic files. The program can perform such operations on pictures as: cropping, resizing the image / canvas, printing, changing the gamma-contrast-brightness-balance and much more. All these operations and filters (in any combination) can be applied immediately to a large number of files in automatic mode. These combinations can be saved as scripts and used later.

The application has a powerful means of navigation and working with files: preview, thumbnails (reduced copies), support for files with descriptions, copying/pasting files through the buffer, support for dragndrop, viewing non-graphic files, automatic creation of a list of files, integration with Windows (adding the Browse with XnView command to the context menu, association with graphic files, adding icons to the Desktop, in the Start menu) ...

One of the main differences of the program is the HUGE number of supported formats (about 400!), from the most common to the most exotic, support for over 45 languages. The program supports both group conversion and streaming, the parameters of which are set in the program settings.

Numerous additional options include: working with a scanner, working with a contact sheet, creating screenshots, working with Windows wallpapers, cropping, generating html albums for posting on the Internet, capturing an image (active window, entire screen, user area), inserting an image from the buffer, counting the colors used in the picture. In general, all the possibilities for every taste.

The XnView interface is very convenient, and many things the user can customize at will. In addition, this viewer has an original, rather pleasant design that pleases the eye after the monotonous buttons and panels of other programs.
